Project Scope
Background
This was initially a self started project to explore ways to improve user experience within a marketing campaign scenario for new and existing users of the Nokia Music Store.
After creating an initial proof of concept which brought the old 10+ step process down to a much improved 2 steps, the new experience was turned into a toolkit for other countries to use for their fixed and mobile web campaigns.
Global Exposure
It proved to be a great success allowing local marketing teams all over the world to run effective campaigns on a platform previously unable to handle such activity.
The toolkit was chosen to be used for the global exclusive Rihanna X6 device launch campaign, which enabled me to work closely with the UK marketing team and R/GA to deliver the campaign.
Development
During the Rihanna campaign the Nokia Music Store was re-developed, which enabled the toolkit to also benefit from a revamp:
- Completely re-written backend in PHP
- Re-written frontend in HTML/CSS/jQuery
- Integration with Nokia internal API’s
- Re-designed in line with the new store appearance
This re-development work enabled the toolkit to be used on a much greater scale, with much improved functionality and features. Local marketing teams could put together campaigns for both fixed and mobile web in days, development time to put the campaign live was also shortened to a matter of minutes.
